Two men receive minor injuries after truck strikes trees

FORT KENT, Maine — A vehicle “left the roadway and struck a number of trees” on North Perley Brook Road early Monday morning, July 25, according to Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier.

Nathan Baron, age 18 of Madawaska, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet pick-up west on North Perley Brook Road at 2 a.m. when police say he lost control of the vehicle.

Baron and his passenger, 21-year-old Josh Hafford of Fort Kent, received minor injuries. According to police they declined transport to a hospital.

Chief Pelletier said the accident caused extensive damage to the pick-up. Sylvio Paradis and Son of Frenchville towed the vehicle from the scene.

Pelletier said the cause of the accident was driver inattention. Police did not issue any citations.
