Hope and Justice seeks sponsors for fall events

AROOSTOOK COUNTY — The Domestic Violence Awareness Month Committee at the Hope and Justice Project is seeking businesses and group sponsors willing to donate $100 for the organization’s fall events. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Hope and Justice Project will host educational events in Houlton, Presque Isle, Caribou, Fort Kent and Madawaska throughout September and October.

The committee is asking to have the sponsorships by August 15.

“We are fundraising ahead of time, because the expenses add up and we want our awareness events to continue to be free to the public,” said Leslie Gervais of New Limerick, an educator at Hope and Justice Project. “We are so thankful for the businesses and groups who support us every year and make it all possible.”

September events will include live music in Bicentennial Park in Madawaska and sidewalk chalk activities with local students in Fort Kent. In October, Hope and Justice Project will host awareness walks in Houlton and Presque Isle and a lip sync contest in Caribou.

Those interested in sponsoring can make checks out and send to: Hope and Justice Project, PO Box 148, Presque Isle, ME 04769, for: DVAM. For more details, visit www.hopeandjusticeproject.org.
