A strong cold front moving east will bring the threat of severe thunderstorms to the region Monday. Skies clear overnight into Tuesday with unseasonably cooler air moving in through Wednesday. Temperatures warm back up Thursday with increasing clouds later in the day as a cold front approaches with showers and thundershowers for Friday. Partly sunny conditions are expected Saturday and Sunday with a chance for showers and thundershowers each day as another cold front approaches.weather_c333101_m.jpg

Monday, July 18

High: upper 70s
Low: low-to-middle 50s

Mostly cloudy skies become overcast with a 70 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Storms could be strong or severe with frequent lightning, damaging winds, heavy downpours, and large hail. Between one-tenth and one-quarter inch precipitation possible with higher amounts in storms. Overnight, clearing skies with a 50 percent chance for showers. South wind 10-15 mph becomes northwesterly later at 10-15 mph.

Partly cloudy and cooler with northwest wind 10-15 mph becoming west at 5-10 mph later.

Low:  low 60s

Partly cloudy to mostly clear with increasing clouds late with a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms increasing to 40 percent overnight. Light west wind.

Friday, July 22

High: low 80s
Low: low 60s

Mostly cloudy early becoming partly clear later. A 40 percent chance for showers and afternoon/evening thunderstorms increasing to 50 percent overnight. Light west to southwest wind.

Saturday, July 23

High: upper 70s
Low: low 60s

Partly sunny with a 50 percent chance for afternoon/evening showers/thunderstorms. Overnight, 40 percent chance for precipitation. Light southwest to west wind.

Sunday, July 24

High: upper 70s
Low: mid-50s

Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance for showers and afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Light southwest to west wind.
