EAGLE LAKE, Maine — Jeanne Devoe, 97, with one month before her 98th birthday, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2016 at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born in Eagle Lake on August 31, 1918, the daughter of David and Justine (Devoe) Gagnon. Jeanne was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years and also belonged to the Ladies of St. Ann and Senior Citizens club, all of Eagle Lake. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her 10 children, Jo-Anne and husband, Giuseppe (Joe) Santillo of Eagle Lake, Arnold and wife, Beatrice Devoe of Eagle Lake and Ocala, Fla., Lois Smiley of Ocala, Richard (Dick) and wife, Phyllis Devoe of Plainville, Conn., Shirley and husband, Larry Gravelle of Ocala, Sandra and husband, Dick Stark of Jackson, Tenn., Barbara and husband, John Christian of Middlesex, Vt., Danny and wife, Donna Devoe of Montgomery, Ala., Robert and wife, Mona Devoe of Eagle Lake, and Helen and husband, Glenn Saucier of Ariz.; 35 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Leonard Devoe in 1993, she was predeceased by three sisters, Julie Nicknair, Marie Sirois and Cora Sirois; and one brother, Hampy Gagnon. Friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 5, 2016 at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery.
