Valley Voices – Teen Edition

ST. JOHN VALLEY – The St. John Valley Times and the Fiddlehead Focus recently asked some St. John Valley teens: “Many adults think young people spend too much time on their cell phones. What do you think?”

Jade Cyr, Madawaska / Buckingham, Virginia: “I am mostly on my phone to listen to music.”

Desiree Dumais, Fort Kent: “I think that using it to communicate with people and going on it within reason is fine, but being on it 24/7 is a bit much and you should go out and get some sunshine.”

Isabelle Hodgkin, Madawaska: “Some of us are on too much. But my mom gets me out of the house a lot, and I leave my phone at home.”

Madison Nadeau, Madawaska: “Sometimes kids are on their phone, but only if there is nothing else to do.”

Emily Yankowsky, Frenchville: “It’s true. I’m on mine all the time. I’ll admit it.”

Valley Voices is a regular feature of the St. John Valley Times and now the Fiddlehead Focus. Keep your eyes peeled for one of our journalists, because you never know when they may roll into your town to give you a chance to share your Valley Voice.
